Eriobotrya Tree (Rasaceae)

Originally from Japan, it is an evergreen tree that is very common in Italy and has large, leathery leaves that are green on top and rusty on the bottom.
In autumn it produces creamy white flowers which in spring give rise to an edible ovoid orange fruit.
