Pyracantha (Rosaceae)

Evergreen shrubs with very lush growth. They have woody, thorny trunks covered in small, bright, dark green leaves; in spring, abundant white flowers are the prelude to a generous fruiting of small, colorful spheres. Highly resistant to pollution, their thorns also provide protection from animals, making them widely used for hedges or large barriers.

Densely branched with thorny branches bearing narrow, long, lanceolate, dark green leaves. Abundant white flowers in summer and red-orange berries throughout the winter.
