Tobira, common pittosporum
Native to Indochina, it is an evergreen shrub with an erect, highly branched habit. It has medium-large, elongated, glossy dark green leaves. In spring, creamy-white flowers appear, followed by abundant, round fruits at the apex of the stem, containing red seeds. Despite its strong resinous odor, it is the most commonly used plant for creating hedges and borders along the seashore, given its high resistance to salt.
Tobira Nanum, dwarf pittosporum
A dwarf form of P. Tobira, it has the same technical characteristics, but with a spherical and spreading growth pattern. Used for borders, rock gardens, and containers, it maintains its spherical and dwarf shape naturally without the need for pruning.
