A romantic Mediterranean garden
built in Pestum, in Cilento, which extends over an area of over a
hectare, designed by landscape designer Luigina Giordani.
The garden revolves around the house and
It is divided into several “rooms” such as the entrance area, the vegetable garden, the orchard,
the swimming pool, the areas for lunch, conversation and relaxation, all united
from the rich presence of dense borders of Mediterranean shrubs and herbaceous plants
perennials flowering in delicate shades of pink and blue.
Some pre-existing tamarisk plants have become a grove embellished with bushes of Hebe, Ceanothus, Salvia and Hemerocallis, placed at the base of the trees.
Even the row of lemon trees has acquired a romantic connotation, placing vaporous clouds of Erigeron and Lavender beneath the plants.
The perimeter of the property, where once there were only Viburnum Lucidum and Leyland Cypress, is now lined with Olive, Holm Oak, Camphor and Pine trees forming a dense forest.
The landscape designer has expertly mixed essences such as Jakaranda, Sophora Japonica, Agapantus, Lavender, Sage, Gaura, Spiraea and many other flowering shrubs and large specimens of Olive, Holm Oak, Schinus Moliis, Lagerstroemia, Strawberry Trees and Carob Trees creating an immense garden with a slightly “disheveled” and natural effect.
